Western Australia Indigenous Art Award, 2010

Two Mangkaja artists have been selected as finalists in Australia's richest indigenous art prize, the Western Australian Indigenous Art Awards. Wakartu Cory Surprise and Sonia Kurarra are among sixteen finalists who were selected from 185 nominations from art centres, galleries and other art organisations around Australia.

Wakartu, in her 80's, won the secondary WA prize last year

The award opens at the Art Gallery of WA, Perth on July 30 when the winner will be announced.
